CERTIFICATIONS
Certified Green Building Professional - Nicole Johnson CGBP, has earned the title of Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP) through Build it Green. Build It Green (BIG) is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote healthy, energy- and resource-efficient building practices in California. BIG organizes a Certified Green Building Professional Training (CGBP) course based on the overarching principles of green building and the systems approach to the design, construction and operation of buildings. Supported by a solid foundation of outreach and education, Build It Green connects consumers and building professionals with the tools and technical expertise they need to build quality green buildings. Incorporating green building products and practices in homebuilding and remodeling projects results in quality homes and financial savings for the consumer. These strategies serve to preserve our environment for future generations by conserving natural resources and protecting air and water quality. In order for the program to maintain strong credibility in the marketplace, recertification is required every other year. CGBP must obtain continuing education over the course of two years in the following areas: Energy and Building Science; Materials and Indoor Air Quality; Site, Landscaping and Water. Consumers who chose to work with Certified Green Building Professionals can be assured that they are working with a professional who is current in the latest advances in green building.
Certified Remodeler - Marty Morse, CR - NARI Certified Remodelers (CRs) are professional remodelers who provide a full range of remodeling services. To become a CR, candidates must possess skill and knowledge in a broad range of business management and technical skill areas.
Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers - Eric Coppola, Mark Sutherland, CKBR - NARI Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers (CKBRs) provide remodeling services specific to kitchens and bathrooms. To become a CKBR, candidates must possess skills and knowledge focused on the requirement of materials, layout, and installation of kitchens and bathrooms.

Morse Remodeling, Inc. Wins Remodeling Award
Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, 51 remodeling companies from the West Region of the US will be honored at the fourteenth annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence on June 20th at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The awards will be presented during the Southern Building Show.
Judged by editors and writers of Better Homes & Gardens, Woman’s Day, Southern Living and The American Institute of Building Design, the winners were selected from over 112 entries from 13 states. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
This year, Morse Remodeling, Inc. of Davis, California won the award for Deck/Porch Category.
This ambitious project entailed designing and constructing an impressive outdoor kitchen and living spaces that will enhance the quality of life of the customer as well as provide optimal entertainment value to the existing dwelling. The customers love to entertain, especially outdoors, and dreamed of a fully functional kitchen, entertainment system, and dining area, all with room to conjugate and socialize during every season of the year. The solution was to create an outdoor covered porch with a kitchen, dining, and recreational areas, including an outdoor fireplace.
"To win an award in this highly competitive category is quite an achievement, this was the first year they have entered the awards, and to take home top honors on the first attempt is impressive," says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards.
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in seventeen categories of residential remodeling.

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named Morse Remodeling, Inc., in Davis,
2007 Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) in the Residential Exterior Specialty category of its annual awards competition.
Contractors from seven regions around the country vie for CotY Awards on an annual basis
Judging for regional awards took place at the Association’s national headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois, in early January. An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description. Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.
