Marty Morse
President, Chief Executive Officer, Certified Remodeler
I was born in Madrid, Spain and moved to Davis just about 12 months into my life. Growing up as the middle child in a family with 5 siblings, the Morse household was always being modified to accommodate the family as it grew. My father was a do-it-yourselfer and would tackle every project on his own (with help from his children and father-in-law). We went through at least three major renovations during the timeframe that I lived under his roof. I was around construction in one way or another almost entire childhood. In 1992 I graduated from UC Davis in Environmental Design with an emphasis on architecture. During my undergraduate work, I would help pay for tuition and other living expenses by performing various maintenance and landscaping tasks for people that my parents knew throughout Davis. After graduating from UC Davis, I honed my carpentry skills and helped construct my Uncle’s house from the ground up. This was the equivalent of obtaining a PHD in the field of construction. I obtained skills from every trade and was trained on the process as we went through the 18 month long project. I applied this knowledge with my four-year BS degree and acquired my State Contractor’s License in 1993.
Beginning with small decks, fences, and patio covers, Morse Construction officially started changing the home environments of residents throughout Davis. Our reputation grew quickly, and I found that I was wearing too many hats. I could not keep up with the demand and decided that I needed some assistance. I hired my first employee in 1995 and carefully delegated tasks in order to accommodate the demand upon myself and the company. In 1999, I incorporated the company and officially changed the name to Morse Remodeling, Inc. Since then we have matured into an elite remodeling and construction company and have successfully remodeled or constructed over one thousand homes in and around the greater Sacramento area. I value every one of my employees and we pride ourselves as being a cohesive team working together to accomplish our goal of being the best at what we do. I attempt to lead our company with a high level of integrity and I am completely dedicated to providing complete customer satisfaction without compromising on quality of craftsmanship.
Marty has achieved the distinguished title of Certified Remodeler (CR) through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). NARI Certified Remodelers are professional remodelers who provide a full range of remodeling services. To become a CR candidates must possess skill and knowledge in a broad range of business management and technical skill areas. CR NARI certification of professional remodeling contractors serves as the association's recognition of remodeling professionals who have met stringent criteria for experience and pledged a commitment to the highest standards of practice and to NARI's Code of Ethics. NARI certification is a challenging process, requiring extensive knowledge of the remodeling industry and a commitment to professional conduct. In order to achieve certification, the candidate must have at least five years of experience in the remodeling industry. Once awarded their certification, NARI certified remodeling professionals must meet annual recertification requirements involving continuing education and participation in industry related programs. Only full-time, professional remodeling contractors are eligible for NARI certification. A homeowner who hires a home improvement contractor with a NARI certification is hiring an individual who has made a strong commitment to not only his or her own professionalism, but that of the remodeling industry and to his or her business.
