Professional growth is a priority at Morse Remodeling.  All of our staff strive to exceed industry standards in knowledge and skill by taking extra courses and participating in skill building events.  As well, Morse Remodeling holds regular training courses in-house to maintain the highest level of skills and performance on the job site. 

National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)
One of our most valued professional partners is NARI, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, providing opportunities for exceptional education and professional tools to our entire organization.  Our staff takes pride in our affiliation with NARI. David Horne, Project Manager at Morse Remodeling, is currently chairman of the Fundraising Committee and the Community Services Committee. He also sits on the Home Tour Committee.  Please check our newsletters for news on our latest projects partnering with NARI in the community.
NARI is an industry leader requiring high standards of performance in order to qualify for any of its certificates.  Members of the Morse staff currently hold Certified Remodelers and Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers certificates.  These certifications require annual educational credits in order to maintain an active status.

Certified Remodeler - NARI Certified Remodelers (CRs) are professional remodelers who provide a full range of remodeling services. This is one of the highest levels of certification available through NARI requiring a combination of 5 or more years of remodeling experience with at least 16 hours of continuing education. In order to pass the exam for this certificate, the candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of the following:

• Business Operations & Ethics
• Building Codes and Construction Law
• Jobsite Evaluation
• Remodeling Plans and Construction Specifications
• Remodeling Tools and Jobsite Safety
• Green Remodeling and Building Science Processes
• Kitchen & Bath Remodeling

Additionally, the certification process requires a complete understanding of all trades associated with remodeling, including Carpentry, Interior Finishes, Roofing & Siding, Insulation, Electrical Systems, HVAC Systems, Plumbing Systems, and Masonry & Concrete. 

Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers - NARI Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers (CKBRs) provide remodeling services specific to kitchens and bathrooms. To become a CKBR, candidates must possess skills and knowledge focused on the requirement of materials, layout, and installation of kitchens and bathrooms.  Qualification for this certification requires a combination of 5 continuous years of remodeling experience with at least 20 bathroom and/or kitchen remodels completed during that time.  As well, the candidate must complete at least 16 hours of education specifically about kitchen and bath remodeling.

NARI of Sacramento CotY Awards
NARI hosts an annual competition for the best remodeling projects of the year.  Dozens of the top remodelers in the Sacramento region submit outstanding remodeling projects for consideration.  The winners of the regional awards then compete nationally for the top award in their category.  Morse Remodeling has competed almost every year since 2006, and is proud to have won at least one regional award each year. 

The CotY Awards are offered in various categories based on the type of remodel and the total value of the remodeling project.  Below is a list of the Morse awards to date.  Check back soon for links to a portfolio of our winners.

Chrysalis Awards www.chrysalisawards.com
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in seventeen categories of residential remodeling. In 2007, Morse submitted an entry for this prestigious award.  Judged by editors and writers of Better Homes & Gardens, Woman’s Day, Southern Living and The American Institute of Building Design, the winners were selected from over 112 entries from 13 states. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure. Morse Remodeling, Inc. won the award for Deck/Porch Category. This ambitious project entailed designing and constructing an impressive outdoor kitchen and living spaces that will enhance the quality of life of the customer as well as provide optimal entertainment value to the existing dwelling. The customers love to entertain, especially outdoors, and dreamed of a fully functional kitchen, entertainment system, and dining area, all with room to conjugate and socialize during every season of the year. The solution was to create an outdoor covered porch with a kitchen, dining, and recreational areas, including an outdoor fireplace.

 

Qualified Remodeler Top 500
Qualified Remodeler is a national industry publication providing professionals and consumers with quality information about the remodeling industry.  Each year, remodeling contractors are invited to submit an application to be included among Qualified Remodelers top companies in the nation.  Placement on the remodeling industries fortune 500 are based on 5 criteria: 

• Installed remodeling dollar volume
• Total years in business
• Industry association membership
• Industry certification
• Industry awards
• Community service

 

Morse Remodeling competed in 2004-2008, winning recognition on this list each of these five years.

Professional Remodeler Leaders List
Like Qualified Remodeler, Professional Remodeler is a national publication providing consumer and professional information for the remodeling industry. Each year Professional Remodeler assesses local remodeling firms based on work volume.  These top remodelers are listed on the Professional Remodeler Market Leader List.  Morse submitted an application to be included on this list in 2007 and 2008, winning a position both years.
